A Whole Other World - Subculture Craft
It is not everyday that I get to visit an Art Museum and find a piece of mine hanging inside on display, yet that is exactly what happened this August when I visited the Racine Art Museum, or RAM as it is called.
My venture to Wisconsin was to visit a good friend, whom I hadn't seen for over a year; but I was able to make a pit stop to check out the exhibit too. It was called A Whole Other World - Subculture Craft and ran May 24th thru Sept 26th.
The exhibit featured works by artists who were inspired by Doctor Who, Star Wars, Steampunk and Superheros. I was contacted by the exhibit's curator in late 2014 as she had shown interest in my The Tenth pixel quilt; which she had seen on social media.
If you missed any of this quilt's journey, you can visit my earlier posts about it.

My Sister joined me on the roadtrip and wanted so badly to point out to every Museum-Goer she ran into that "This is my Sister's piece". Luckily I convinced her that it would be better to just hang out in the gallery and creepily listen to what people had to say.
Even though I have lots of photos and the wall placard, it still doesn't seem real; especially considering that this quilt is now folded and sitting inconspicuously in a pile of other quilts in my home.
