Scrappy Starship Quilt
Who loves scrap quilts? I do...I do.
I knew when I saw the Starship quilt pattern that my friend, Sarah Holst, created; I would definitely be adding it to my To-Make list. Her pattern is great for a Confident Beginner; but gives the Experienced Quilter a fun make as well.
The pattern is written for not only three quilt sizes (Baby, Throw, Bed); but also three variations. I chose to make the Scrappy version and could not have been happier.

I started by pulling together lots of low volume prints and paired them with different shades of Black, Grey, and Taupe for the background. I started by making a single block, and I was hooked.
The rest of the blocks went together fairly quickly, and soon enough I had a finished quilt top. I of course, gave it to my friend, Lilo at Trace Creek Quilting to longarm. She choose a quirky star-shaped edge to edge design and the yellow thread played beautifully off of the neutral quilt.
After the quilt was finished, I took it out for a little photoshoot; because why not. It was just too pretty to fold up and put away without enjoying it a bit.
