INTRODUCING ROTATION QUILT PATTERN
Today is pattern release day for my newest quilt pattern, ROTATION. This statement quilt goes together easily and is made up of simple shapes including HSTs (Half-Square Triangles) and SHSTs (Split Half-Square Triangles).
ROTATION is a 65" x 65" quilt, so large enough to snuggle with; but not too cumbersome to take with you for an unexpected picnic.
ROTATION is also a multi-variation pattern. So you have lots of options when it comes to fabric and color choices. Which will you choose?
- Two-Color
- Three-Color (as pictured)
- Scrappy
I'll be sharing more about each of these variations in my next post, as my Pattern Testers really showed off their skills.
Fabric selection.
One of my new favorite fabric collections is Spectrastatic by Giucy Giuce for Andover Fabrics. I used the color Dust for the background of this quilt. I complimented that with Chalk and Charcoal in Zinc by Jennifer Sampou for Robert Kaufman, and Microlife Textures in Espresso by John Wylie for Robert Kaufman.
What fabrics will you choose?
- Do you have a favorite collecton?
- Will you play with prints, or just use solids or semi-solids?
ROTATION let's you do both, so pull out an old favorite, or try something new.
How is it quilted?
Lilo, from Trace Creek Quilting always knows what to do to make my quilts shine. The E2E (edge to edge) design she chose compliments the rotation of the "gears" as I've heard some people refer to the rotating discs in the quilt.
