STAR'D Quilt Pattern

One of my best selling quilt patterns is STAR'D; which I published in 2013. I wanted to share this pattern again on my blog because it has been getting a lot of love recently in my shop.

STAR'D is a 50" x 60" scrap quilt, which is great to hang on a wall, or toss over a chair. Yet, it is also just the right size for a young child, if you are looking to make something that they will treasure. As a scrap quilt, this is a great opportunity to dig into those well-loved fabrics in your stash and make something new.

STAR'D was inspired by the beloved Ohio Star traditional quilt block that many quilters know well. I wanted to create a fresh new and modern take on this beloved block, by showing it's components in various stages of completion. The addition of the black flying geese, creates movement.

How about that quilting? This is one of the quilts that I actually quilted on my domestic Bernina sewing machine, back before I discovered Lilo from TraceCreekQuilting and all the magic she could do with her longarm. I used a free-motion technique that I learned from a quilting working I took at QuiltCon.
