Camelot Fabrics - What A Gem - ELEVATION Pillow
June has just started; but that doesn't mean that I've been sitting idle these last three days. On the contrary, there has been a lot of work going on behind the computer screen.
The first of which is my collaboration with Camelot Fabrics. I was invited to create some pillow designs for them, showcasing some of their new Spring collections. In the end, they chose four designs; all of which will eventually become free patterns on their site.
While I have been working on writing the pillow patterns, they asked if I would sew up one of the pillows using the new collection What A Gem by Allison Cole.
I got to work immediately after receiving the fabric, making lots of HST and piecing the pillow front together.
I chose to quilt it using 1/2" parallel vertical lines, and I think it lends a nice texture; without detracting from the fabric.
My Mom added the hand-sewn binding, and soon enough the pillow-cover was boxed up and on it's way to Camelot Fabrics.
I am calling this pattern ELEVATION, and is now available on the Camelot Fabrics site. Check out this link for more information.
While I love making quilts, sometimes these smaller projects are a nice distraction.
