All I can say is I'm glad to be home.
I just returned from a two-week business trip to China, and I can honestly tell you that the sweetest sound is when the airline pilot says "Welcome to St. Louis"...which for those of you who don't know, is where I live. While I wish I could share tons of photos with you, I didn't have much opportunity to shoot any, so I'm sharing a few from previous trips as well.
This was my room at the Pullman Hotel in Dongguan, a city about an hour's drive north of Hong Kong, and where all my time was spent. The hotel was very nice, the food was decent and there was a lovely walking park and pool on the grounds.
Here are two photos from my hotel room balcony, this is a typical scene in the Dongguan area, a factory/warehouse and accompanying dormitory.
Now onto some photos from trips past. The below two were taken from The Peak, a century-old tram that takes you to the top of Hong Kong. I visited here in 2006 and I highly recommend this attraction.
In 2007, here are two photos of Dongguan from my room at the Sheraton Hotel.
Here are some vitals:
Flight Time (To Hong Kong from San Francisco) 14 1/2 hours
Flight Time (To San Francisco from Hong Kong) 11 1/2 hours
-It's all about the jet streams and direction you are flying
Time Difference (Between St. Louis and Dongguan) 12 hours
-Which makes calling home a little rough
