QuiltCon 2015 Lanyard Swap

When I attended Quilt Market back in 2012, my friend Lynne made me a ridiculously cool lanyard; which I still wear today to all of my St. Louis MQG meetings. It weighs a little more then it did back then, as I've added some accessories.

So, when I ran across Julie's QuiltCon 2015 Lanyard Swap on Instagram, I signed up right away. Why would I want to use the standard-issue woven lanyard they provide, when I could have a handmade one.

After getting my Partner's information, I gathered my supplies and got to work using the tutorial that was provided; but it was a disaster.  I didn't like the look, it was too small and my seams were not up to snuff, so Lanyard #1 went in the trash.

Lanyard #2 went much smoother and I gleefully mailed it away.  I received word today that my Partner received it this week.

Last Wednesday, I opened my mailbox to find a package inside. At first, I was trying to remember if I had forgotten about something I ordered, since it was quite a large package.  I was surprised to find that it was in fact for the Lanyard swap.

Inside was a lanyard of course in all it's low-volume yumminess.

Aren't those colorful hexi's adorable?

But that wasn't it, there were several coordinating extras including a notebook, clothespins, and baker's twine...along with some chocolate.

Yet, the biggest surprise of all was this Idea Pouch that my partner made for me.  You can find the pattern here.

Marci did a great job at capturing my inspiration and it looks like I'm all set for QuiltCon...

...Hahaha, who am I kidding.
