Prepping for Bright Ideas Expo - Portable Display

As mentioned in a previous post, I'll be sharing with you some of the things that I am doing to prepare for my upcoming event at the St. Louis Science Center this weekend at the Bright Ideas Expo.

One of the things that I had to make...or rather I asked my Dad to make was a portable display. I remembered that I had saved this image from Pinterest a while ago; which became the inspiration. A trip to the hardware store for PVC pipe and components, and soon enough my Dad had built this for me.  It stands a little over 6 foot tall and is slightly wider then 4 foot.

While my plan had been to turn it into a design wall by adding a taut fabric surface much like the inspiration photo and pinning the Improv blocks that I am making that day onto the surface...I've decided to change my mind again and go a different direction.

This is clearly not the first change I have made...I think I am on Plan G now; but each time I am making things simpler on myself and hopefully not as cluttered for those visiting my table. Instead, I am turning it into a display rack to hold several of my quilts.

This looks so much more enticing and hopefully will grab your attention.  As you can see, it holds 4 quilts without a problem and honestly, I could probably add one or two more quilts if I wanted.

Best of all, it breaks down into 14 manageable pieces; which easily fit in my car and should be relatively easy to carry with the help of some zip-ties that is.

Stay tuned for another post as I continue my preparations.
